The Investment Studies Center (ISC), the training arm of Union of Investment Companies (UIC), organized a seminar on " UNDERSTANDING KPIS and BALANCED SCORE CARDS in PERFORMANCE MANAGEMENT" on Wednesday, 08^th February 2023. The seminar was opened by Ms. Fadwa Darwish - Secretary General of UIC, where she referred to the growing role of the main indicators of performance in the institutional performance system, especially since these indicators constitute a quantitative measure of progress towards achieving a specific goal. They provide an approach that helps administrators make better decisions. This has led to the spread of the application of key performance indicators in various fields, as this application now includes, but is not limited to, the management of enterprise strategies, project management, and the operational management of activities in all its aspects.

In turn, the lecturer, Dr. Farid Lian, shed light on the practical aspects of the close connection of these indicators to the strategies of organizations, and how to derive them based on the institutional vision, and arrange them in what is called the balanced performance cards. He also explained that the concept of "balance" refers to the card's reliance on all important aspects. The performance of the institution, and not only on its financial performance, in a way that constitutes a practical approach by which the institutional goals are achieved.

The seminar followed a practical method that makes it easy to apply the concept of key performance indicators and benefit from it in achieving institutional goals.
