Board of Directors for Union of Investment Companies (UIC) accredited the Center for Investment & Financial Services Studies (CIFSS) during their first meeting on 9/3/2008. The Center works according to the prepared law for it.

CIFSS -the technical and practical arm for UIC- held its first training course in cooperation with AlJoman Center for Economic Consultancy on 21/7/2008. The course aimed at helping the trainees to get the ultimate benefit from the available free information at AlJoman Center website, www.aljoman.net, regarding investment and circulation at Kuwait Stock Exchange.

UIC Secretary General & CIFSS Reporter added that there is a prepared seasonal work plan for introducing many programs and courses according to a feasibility study done by Center of Excellence in Management, University of Kuwait and what was accredited by UIC Board of Directors regarding CIFSS.

The Center for investment and financial services Studies continued its meetings with a group of specialized companies in order to hear their perspectives about the services that can be submitted to the Center, on Monday 27/11/2008 from 10:00 am. The meetings were attended by representatives of the Center Mr. Ayman A. Boodai - Chairman , Prof. Ramadan Al-Sharrah - Center Reporter and Mrs. Fadwa Darwish – Director of Technical Support Department, where they first met the representatives of Ernst & Young – Al-Aiban & Al-Osaimi. Mr. Walid Al-Osaimi - Managing Partner, Ms. Aisha Naddem - Director of Solutions Business Consulting, Mr. Marinoz Athanacio - Director in Charge. Followed by a meeting with representatives of the Educational Holding Group Mr. Jassim A. Al-Maraghy - Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Bader Z. Al-Traijy - Head of Operations, Mr. Ghassan A. Dahdolh - Adviser of Projects. Then they met with representatives of the Center recently with representatives of the First Company for Education, which was attended by Mr. Sayyid B. Al-Aqeeli - Chief Executive, Mr. Mohammed A. Abdulla - Director of Educational Projects and Ms. Marwa Apul. It was agreed that a set of measures prepared by the parties taking into account the orientations of the Union, and provide to the Center during the coming period.

Center for Investment and Financial Services Studies introduced a program on “The Modernization of International Standards for Financial Reporting” in cooperation with Ernst & Young – Al-Aiban & AL-Osaimi, in the period between 16 - 18 / 12 / 2008.
